Since 2021, I have been Lead Artist co-leading Cultivate at the Sidney Nolan Trust alongside Antony Mottershead, the trust’s Curator and Creative Producer.
Cultivate is a monthly arts programme engaging young people ages 11–18 (previously 15–25) with an interest in the arts in developing their creative thinking and making skills through research and experimentation. The group offers a unique and critical social space for those growing up in a rural location to make and access art and work alongside artists and other professionals with a broad range of expertise. Often outdoors and always collaborative, Cultivate enables young people to experience contemporary art practice together.
The group focuses on a specific idea as an ongoing area of enquiry over a period of time and builds an artistic response. Themes have included ‘Earth’, ‘Studio Practice’, ‘Ideation’, ‘Sense of Place’ and ‘Belonging’.
Through Cultivate we have worked with the following artists:
Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg
Stefhan Caddick
Kate Constantine
Gemma Costin
Lal Davies

Tom Goddard (Gentle Radical)
