From 2011 to 2014 I was Research Liaison Manager and Regional Co-ordinator at Technocamps, a three-year, European-funded programme based across Wales to inspire, motivate and engage young people with computational thinking and promote computer science as underpinning all aspects of modern society.
I led the West Wales team of staff, academics and volunteers in the delivery of its third mission – curriculum enrichment activities for young people. I commissioned resources with .NET Gadgeteer, Printcraft and Sony, instigated sessions and sought alternative venues to broaden engagement and established Beach Lab, a celebration of technology in the outdoors.
